Under Pressure - The Physics of the Football (iStage 3)

Whether it is the World Cup, the European Football Championship or the Champions League - football enthuses people all around Europe at any time. In the teaching unit ‘Under Pressure’ it is all about the ball and the impact of the air in it. In experiments students determine among other things how to measure the weight of the air inside the ball and how the pressure inside the ball influences its bounce on the ground.
The teaching unit is taken from the brochure ‘iStage 3 - Football in Science Teaching’ from the topic ‘ball’ and is suitable for physics, mathematics and ICT classes. The complete brochure can be ordered free of charge via mail (bestellung@science-on-stage.de) or downloaded. It was developed by 20 teachers from 15 countries around Europe. The project was proudly supported by SAP.
