Dedicated to science

This blog post was written by Ana Georgieva of Science on Stage Bulgaria.

This year, Science on Stage Bulgaria held its festival for the 8th time and it was something truly special. Due to Covid, it was held in a hybrid form. On the one hand, it took place in presence, on the other hand virtually with the help of SAP in Bulgaria and WCIF.

It was a challenge but it had its perks as it was able to invite more participants and visitors.

The grand opening of the festival on 25.06.2021 began with a short program presented by Kindergarten "Joy" - Sevlievo. Professor Ana Georgieva, NSC of Science on Stage Bulgaria, opened the Festival, thanking the hosts for the good preliminary organization and the participants who joined the event despite the difficult situation.

The participants were greeted remotely by Prof. Dr. Nelly Koseva - Deputy Minister of Education and Science in Bulgaria. Jitka Houvková, a member of the Executive Board of Science on Stage Europe and one of the main organisers of the festival in Prague, also joined the participants with a greeting and wishes for success.

In the course of the festival, 28 projects were presented on stands, 11 of them were presented online and 17 in person. From these presented projects, a national jury selected the delegation, that will represent Bulgaria at the upcoming European Science on Stage festival 2022

We are very happy, that we were able to hold the festival. These were days dedicated to science and its use in everyday life what made it interesting and exciting. We are now looking forward to Prague.
