Serbia: Innovative learning with VR and smart glasses
At the Secondary School of Information Technology in Belgrade, Serbia, teachers and students had the chance to participate in hands-on workshops focused on Virtual Reality (VR) technology and smart glasses in education. The workshops introduced participants to the many possibilities VR offers in modern teaching and demonstrated how this technology can enhance learning experiences.
By using smart glasses, students explored content in an interactive and visually rich way, which contributes to a better understanding of the material and greater motivation to learn. This technology enables simulations, virtual experiments, and the visualisation of complex concepts through experiential learning.
During the workshops, students had the opportunity to test various VR scenarios suitable for classroom use, while teachers exchanged ideas on integrating these technologies across different subjects. A particular focus was placed on developing creative approaches to applying VR in lessons.
By introducing innovative tools such as VR and smart glasses, the school aims to foster creativity, digital skills, and critical thinking in students. In this way, teaching becomes more modern, dynamic, and aligned with the generations growing up with digital technologies.
VR technology can be applied not only in STEM subjects but also across other disciplines, opening up new opportunities for interactive and creative learning. Initiatives like these represent an important step toward modernizing education and preparing students for professions of the future.
