Bringing Science on Stage to Norwegian science teachers

Tekna took part in the Norwegian National Science Conference (Naturfagkonferansen), organised by the Norwegian Centre for Science Education at the University of Oslo, on 15 October 2026. The conference brought together teachers, teacher educators and others interested in science education to share ideas and explore ways to make science teaching engaging and inspiring.

At our stand, we introduced Tekna and presented our professional development programme for teachers, which offers opportunities for learning, networking and exchanging experiences across science, mathematics and technology education.

A key focus was raising awareness of Science on Stage and encouraging more Norwegian teachers to discover the opportunities it offers. We presented two projects that took part in last year's Science on Stage festival, showcasing examples of innovative teaching practices and giving visitors a glimpse of the ideas and inspiration teachers can gain from participating in this European network.

By sharing these projects at a national conference, we wanted to demonstrate how teachers can learn from one another, develop their teaching and bring new ideas into their own classrooms. We hope that meeting teachers face to face and sharing concrete examples will spark curiosity about Science on Stage and inspire more educators to get involved in future festivals.

Through Tekna Realfagslærerne, which hosts Science on Stage Norway, we look forward to continuing to connect Norwegian science teachers with this inspiring European community.
