The EU STEM Coalition General Assembly 2026
This week, one of our ambassadors, Selçuk Yusuf Arslan, participated in the two‑day general assembly of the EU STEM Coalition. The event brought together organisations, educators, and policymakers to exchange ideas and shape future priorities.
The meeting opened with reflections on the Coalition’s structure and future directions. Participants were also invited to save the date for the next gathering, scheduled for November in Germany.
During the poster session, the stand of Science on Stage received strong interest, with many of the attendees stopping by. Topics such as the AI Literacy Grant, the teaching material 'AI in STEM Education', and the Science on Stage festival sparked especially lively discussions.
The second day featured keynote speakers addressing emerging and longstanding challenges in STEM education. Former Minister Prof. Selçuk highlighted the growing importance of quantum technologies and their role in education, aligning closely with Science on Stage resources, especially the upcoming materials on 'Quantum Computing in STEM Education'. Another keynote focused on the importance of early‑childhood STEM education, digital skills development, and addressing gaps in the STEM learning pathway.
Overall, the meeting reinforced the value of collaboration, innovation, and early engagement in building a strong and inclusive future for STEM education in Europe.
