Science on Stage Germany receives the ESD Award 2026

For the second time in a row, Science on Stage Germany has been awarded the national ‘Education for Sustainable Development: Achieving the Global Sustainable Development Goals (ESD 2030)’ award. The award is presented every two years by the Federal Ministry of Education, Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth, in collaboration with the German Commission for UNESCO, to initiatives that demonstrate a particularly strong commitment to sustainable education and the implementation of the global Sustainable Development Goals.

What makes the award special
The National Award recognises not only individual projects, but above all a long-term and forward-looking commitment. At the same time, it brings the award-winning initiatives into a strong network spanning education, science and society. For Science on Stage, receiving this honour once again is a wonderful sign that practical, teacher-developed materials in the field of ESD are both needed and valued.
