Science on Stage at the ICASE World Conference
Science on Stage participated in the 8th ICASE World Conference on Science and Technology Education, organised by the International Council of Associations for Science Education, which took place at University College Cork, Ireland, from 22 to 25 June.
The conference brought together science educators, researchers and organisations from different countries to share practices, discuss challenges, and strengthen international collaboration in science education. Science on Stage was represented by the National Steering Committees of Portugal, Ireland, and the United Kingdom.
On 25 June, the Portuguese National Steering Committee presented a session entitled “Teach STEM with Science on Stage”. The session introduced participants to the Science on Stage network and highlighted its role in promoting collaboration among teachers, the exchange of innovative classroom practices and the international visibility of science education projects. According to participants, the session was inspiring, provided useful ideas for developing engaging STEM learning experiences and encouraged them to find out more about Science on Stage, as well as to consider becoming part of this European community of science teachers.
The participation of the Portuguese, Irish and UK National Steering Committees contributed to strengthening the presence of Science on Stage at an international level and reinforced the importance of teacher-led professional exchange in science and technology education.
