Teachers Gather in Tetovo to Strengthen STEM Education

I am pleased to share a short report on the Science on Stage event held on 2 October 2026 at Europe House Tetovo, North Macedonia.

The event was organised to present the Science on Stage initiative, its opportunities for teachers and schools, and the importance of international exchange and collaboration in STEM education.

The event brought together more than 60 participants, including teachers and representatives of primary and secondary schools from the region. Their participation demonstrated a strong interest in innovative approaches to science education, professional networking and opportunities for international collaboration.

During the event, we presented the role and mission of Science on Stage as a European network that connects teachers and provides opportunities to share innovative teaching practices, classroom projects and experiences. Particular attention was given to the participation of teachers from North Macedonia at the Science on Stage Festival 2026 in Klaipėda, Lithuania.

The participants had the opportunity to learn about the projects presented by our national delegation in Klaipėda and to hear about the experiences gained through interaction with teachers from different European countries. The presentations highlighted how practical, creative and interdisciplinary STEM activities can contribute to engaging students and enriching classroom learning.

The event also provided an opportunity to discuss the importance of strengthening STEM education in North Macedonia and encouraging more teachers and schools to become involved in Science on Stage activities.

We believe that events such as this can contribute to:

•          encouraging teachers to exchange innovative teaching practices;

•          strengthening STEM education in schools;

•          creating professional networks among teachers;

•          promoting international cooperation and mobility;

•          giving teachers from North Macedonia greater opportunities to present and share their projects at European level.

The participation of more than 60 teachers and school representatives was a very encouraging sign of interest in the Science on Stage community and in further developing STEM-related activities in our schools.

We would like to thank the Science on Stage Europe team for supporting this community and for creating opportunities that allow teachers to learn from one another, exchange ideas and bring new approaches into their classrooms.

We look forward to continuing to promote Science on Stage in North Macedonia and to building stronger connections between our teachers and the wider European Science on Stage community.
