Write an emailSelçuk Yusuf Arslan is a computer science teacher and educational researcher who completed his PhD in Educational Leadership at Hacettepe University. His doctoral research focused on the role of STEM policies in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He is a Science on Stage Europe Ambassador and a Scientix Ambassador, actively promoting innovative STEM education and international collaboration across Europe.
In 2023, Dr. Arslan was selected as the world winner in the Environmental Protection and Moral Leadership category of the JCI Ten Outstanding Young Persons of the World (TOYP) programme by presenting an interdisciplinary teaching model that integrates coding education with climate action. He is also a Global Teacher Prize finalist and the recipient of the UNESCO–ETF Green Skills Award. As an Intel SFI Gold Ambassador and Certified Trainer, he is committed to empowering girls in coding and advancing STEM education through innovative, technology-driven learning experiences. Together with his students, he has received numerous international awards, and he continues to inspire young people with his passion for teaching, innovation, and sustainability.

Science on Stage is a very important network that supports the collaboration of STEM teachers. Thanks to SonS, you can participate in the biggest teacher-to-teacher festival in Europe.
You meet outstanding teachers and this contributes greatly to your professional development. Besides that, SonS always supports you unconditionally. For a quality STEM education and a better world, Science on Stage can be our focus.
Your involvement with Science on Stage?
I participated in the Science on Stage Festival held in Debrecen, Hungary in 2017 with my "Scientific Research Club" project. Later, I was invited to the final with my students in the STEM league held at the German Football Museum.
Last year, I gave an Introduction to BBC micro: bit presentation as part of the SonS webinar series. My More Coding More Girls project was supported by Science on Stage and with this project I won the first prize in Diversity in STEM competition. I wish our cooperation to continue from now on.
