Webinar: From Bits to Quantum Leaps - The Quantum Machine
Quantum computing is transforming our understanding of what computers can achieve. This webinar introduces practical and engaging approaches to teaching quantum computing in secondary education by connecting the foundations of classical computing with the emerging world of quantum technologies.
Participants will explore how concepts such as binary numbers, logic gates, qubits, quantum gates, superposition, and entanglement can be taught through interactive simulations, and the browser-based Quantum Machine. The session will showcase classroom-ready resources and lesson ideas developed by an international team of educators, providing teachers with accessible tools to integrate quantum computing into computer science, mathematics, physics,
and STEM lessons, even without prior experience in quantum computing.
About the Teaching Materials
Developed by Science on Stage Germany in collaboration with teachers from across Europe, Quantum Computing in STEM Education helps bring one of today's most exciting emerging technologies into STEM classrooms. The modular resources cover physics, mathematics, and computer science and can be used as individual lessons, combined into customised learning sequences, or followed through ready-made learning pathways. The materials are freely available and include insights into both the scientific foundations and career opportunities in quantum technologies. Selçuk Yusuf Arslan is a computer science teacher at Ataturk Vocational and Technical High School in Ankara, Turkey, as well as an educational researcher.
