Science on Stage Denmark
Science on Stage Denmark is part of VIA CFU, the Teachers' Resource Center, the Center for Educational Resources Denmark.
The goal of the Center for Educational Resources (CFU) in Denmark is to support, supplement and develop good teaching in primary schools and upper secondary education. This is done by offering loans of physical and digital teaching materials, guidance in didactics, and professional courses to promote varied and inspiring learning.
Core tasks and objectives:
• Loan of materials: CFU functions as a central resource bank where teachers can borrow teaching materials that supplement the schools' own collections, including subject boxes, class sets and digital teaching materials.
• Pedagogical guidance: They offer guidance in the selection and use of teaching materials, IT in teaching and professional/didactic sparring.
• Competence development: CFU holds practice-oriented courses, conferences and theme days for teachers and educators.
• School development: The purpose is to support teachers' professional foundations and create variety in teaching.
CFU Denmark is anchored in the country's six vocational colleges and functions as a statutory institution that ensures equal access to updated teaching materials throughout the country.
Through the development and dissemination of knowledge, collaboration and coordination, it creates measurable value for everyone who teaches science or otherwise shares the vision of a new generation of young people with strong science skills in Denmark. VIA CFU is, among other things, involved in organizing the conferences Discovering Nature and Technology, Science in secondary school and the Big Bang Conference. All conferences aim to create the best possible science education with a practical and investigative approach.
Organiser of the Science on Stage festival 2011 in Ørestad, Copenhagen was the Danish Science Factory. The festival-film can be watched here:
