Canada's National Festival: A day of inspiration, science and collaboration

At the National Science on Stage Festival of Canada in August 2025, nearly fifty participants had the opportunity to take part in a dynamic and enriching day filled with learning and exploration.

The event kicked off with an engaging opening keynote by Ms. Johanne Patry.
During the lunch hour, attendees were invited to a conference led by a researcher and preschool teacher working with 4-year-olds, focused on annual planning to support science education in early childhood classrooms. Some participants opted for a literary tasting session during lunch, where they explored connections between science and children’s picture books – a creative way to integrate literacy and scientific thinking.
Two mandatory workshops were part of the day’s program:
• An introduction to a project using Augmented Reality (AR);
• A discussion with university students who presented their research through scientific popularization.
The rest of the day allowed participants to explore a science fair, featuring innovative projects and interactive displays. They also had the chance to experience a sensory immersive bubble themed around sustainable development, offering a unique and reflective moment.
The day concluded with a closing conference on entrepreneurship in elementary education, with a special focus on the scientific dimension of entrepreneurial projects.

It was truly a full and inspiring day, leaving participants energized and equipped to bring science to life in their classrooms!
