Croatian projects win tickets to Klaipėda

For the second time, the Croatian Science on Stage Festival offered a platform for Croatian teachers to showcase their work in STEM subjects. The event took place on October 25, 2025 at the Središće Zagreb Elementary School, and was attended by 40 teachers as visitors, 80 teachers as exhibitors at 47 stations, as well as panel discussion participants and jury members. In addition to the teachers' projects presented at stands, there was also a EU Code Week booth and a stand presenting the STEP platform supported through the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+). The accompanying activity, i.e. the webinar in which the plenary lecture will be presented, will reach an additional number of teachers.

The introductory lecture entitled "Meaningful Learning and Evaluation in the Age of Artificial Intelligence" was given by Prof. Dr. Sc. Blaženka Divjak, former Ministry of Education, from the Faculty of Organization and Informatics in Varaždin. It was followed by a panel discussion on the topic with teachers Damir Belavić, Milka Fofonjka, Ana Lopac Groš, Helena Valenčić, Vjera Barbir Alavanja, and Perica Vulić Vočanec.  This section was moderated by Melita Milić, with the assistance of Anita Terzić.

The submitted projects were categorised according to pre-defined topics and evaluated based on clear criteria available on the Science on Stage Croatia website. The evaluation panel was led by Barbara Sović. Four of the most innovative projects presented were selected to compete in the upcoming European Science on Stage Festival.

The festival provided teachers with a space for an inspiring exchange of ideas and good practices, and Profil Klett, the host organisation of Science on Stage Croatia, opened the door to new collaborations and strengthened trust with teachers, as well as partners from the educational community.

Based on a survey conducted among exhibitors, several key topics that they would like to hear more about at future festivals were identified, such as cybersecurity and technological innovations in education.
