Science on Stage Latvia has chosen its delegates for Klaipėda

On September 25, 2025, Zemgale Region Competence Development centre organised the 2nd round of the national competition of Science on Stage Latvia, in which teachers presented their projects or experiments at stands.

12 applications submitted to the competition were presented by 14 teachers from all regions of Latvia: Limbazi State Gymnasium, Friendly Appeal Cesis State Gymnasium, Tukums Secondary School No 2, Tukums Rainis State Gymnasium, Liepaja Oskars Kalpaks High School, Daugavpils Science Secondary School, Jelgava secondary School No 5 and Jelgava Technology secondary School.

The teachers’ projects were submitted on the following themes: “Self-directed learning in STEM education,” “Artificial Intelligence (AI) in STEM Education” and “Low-cost experiments in STEM education.”

They were evaluated by experts from the State Education Development Agency, Agency of International Programs for Youth, Jelgava State gymnasium and Zemgale Region Competence Development Centre.

These are the three winners of the competition who will represent Latvia in the 14th European Science on Stage Festival to be held on May 28–31, 2026, in Klaipėda, Lithuania:
1st place: Kaspars Antonevičs, Ivars Bahmanis – “Building prototypes of electric cars and competitions” (Jelgava Technology Secondary school).
2nd place: Vadims Mamedovs, Josifs Spirts – “Complex digital assistant to support physical and functional development of students” (Jelgava Secondary School No 5)
3rd place: Edīte Sarva, Līga Pikse-Zvirbule – Course “Project work” (Limbazi State Gymnasium, Friendly Appeal Cēsis State Gymnasium)
