Teachers kick off the project “STEM Jobs for the Future”
How can STEM career orientation be integrated into the classroom? To answer this question, the “STEM Jobs for the Future” project brings together teachers from all over Europe.
23 teachers from 15 different countries will bring together their experiences and ideas. They will create teaching materials that can be used to bring career orientation directly into the classroom and link it to the curriculum.
Before the first working meeting, the participating teachers had already had the opportunity to get to know each other during an online “speed dating”. The joy was all the greater when everyone came together in person in Berlin from 7-9 November 2025. The teachers presented ideas that they had brought with them to each other. The coordinators team had the challenging task of identifying the overarching topics for the project from the ideas. The first day ended with a delicious buffet.
On Saturday, the participants came together in four working groups and began to define their topics and the associated career areas in more detail. After the lunch break, the group set off on a walk to get some fresh air to continue the group work. In addition, two coordinators gave input on the topic of stereotype-free career orientation in order to raise the awareness of all participants to the topic.
At the end of the day, the groups had decided on their topics for the materials: They will work on professions related to water and ecology, clothing and materials, biology and robotics, and space.
On Sunday, the participants planned their next steps for the coming weeks and months. After they had presented their results in the plenary session, the intensive weekend was already over. The participants and the coordinators left with a suitcase full of ideas, contacts and motivation.
Science on Stage would like to thank all participants and the coordinators team for the successful and motivating weekend!
Science on Stage would also like to thank SAP for providing the location, and the project partners Amazon Future Engineer, European Petrochemical Association and Gesamtmetall.
The teaching materials will be published in 2027. Subscribe to our newsletter to not miss any updates from Science on Stage.
