Back to School with a Blast: Professional Development in Ankara

On the 7th of September, a "Back to School" professional development event for teachers in Ankara was attended by 27 teachers from across the school spectrum. It offered two sessions: an "AI in the Classroom" workshop delivered by educational technology specialist Mona Altundemir, and an Intel SFI Platform workshop conducted by Dr. Selçuk Yusuf Arslan. The training was supported by a grant from our Coding for our Future program.

The event began with a presentation by Science on Stage Ambassador Dr. Selçuk Yusuf Arslan, who introduced Science on Stage, its mission, ongoing projects, and how teachers can join the network.

In the following session on AI in the Classroom, Mona Altundemir discussed the integration of AI into lessons using the ADDIE model and encouraged teachers to design a sample lesson in groups. The session concluded with group presentations.

During the networking break, a special Back 2 School cake was cut to celebrate the beginning of the new school year, accompanied by tea and coffee for the participants.

In the second session, Dr. Arslan presented the Intel SFI Platform. At the end of the session, participants registered on the platform and explored the resources offered to teachers.

The workshop concluded with a certificate ceremony. In the concluding feedback, participants expressed their appreciation for a "very impactful workshop".
