Wonderful days full of STEM

It seemed unreal when we actually stood in front of the Clarion Hotel in Prague, where the European Science on Stage festival was supposed to take place from 24-27 March. But here we were.

The weeks beforehand passed in hectic preparation - preparing registrations, instructing helpers, assembling material. Always worried that the event would be cancelled after all.

But on 24 March, the teachers actually arrived and set up their stalls. Everyone was so excited. After years of online meetings, it was a relief to finally meet like-minded colleagues to exchange innovative teaching ideas!

After a few hours of set-up, the education fair was ready. The opening ceremony was hosted by Michael Londesborough, a British scientist working at the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry of the Czech Academy of Sciences. With amazing and LOUD experiments, he welcomed the teachers to the festival. And from that moment, it was clear: This would be an amazing festival!

Over the next four days, new ideas were discovered, funny anecdotes shared and new projects planned together. The festival was fullof intense conversations and laughter and even dances!

Time flew by. All too soon it was time to leave. But even though it is over, the memories of this event will linger for a while. See you next time - in Torku!
